Hi Fred

In town, but to docs on Tuesday and again tomorrow concerning knee problems.
 It's no fun getting old!

Try "lightrail" and see what your search engine turns up. Two sites - one
in Holland which is commercial, and one in US with interesting links. Looks
like Minneapolis (Howard would be interested), Charlotte and Phoenix will
be next with light rail. Also, FTA has website with News Releases, plus
some documents, for those with an interest beyond the past. I think we
both fall within that category.

Concerning "railspot.com" , traction list, about ready to unsubscribe. Too
much discussion about models. Wonder if we can interest Derrick into
starting a current day light rail discussion group for those interested in
12" to the foot.

Back to the FTA website to see what leads I can find to current projects.

Best wishes

John

p.s. Memory of the Hague in 1969 was that operators knew only two operating
conditions. Full power and full braking.

>Are you out of town?
>
>I asked my tour leader to set me up with ten days in Germany before the
>tour of Switzerland. If she can do it, I'll meet Marie in Bern or
>Zurich.
>
>I met a chap at the Baltimore Streetcar Museum today who just went up to
>Jersey City to ride the new TNJ line. Asked what he thought. I think
>he started off by saying it was strange. Slow was one of his main
>complaints. The designers should have been sent to the Hague or Basel
>for a lesson in how to do it.
