Fred III had some comments about the 1700 in an email to the group today and 
in it there was mention of a &quot;hopeful&quot; low floor high speed Jones car, or 
maybe it was 
a wish that Jim would get his boys in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) to produce 
it.

I also have needled Jim about a low floor car and maybe this is a small 
snowball 
starting.  Jim has said he wants to do 1600 next, which is probably 2002, but 
lets keep the friendly presssure on him.  As a Pittsburgh native and PRCo. 
fan he owes it to us, don't you agree?  We don't want all those  colorful  ex 
SEPTA PCC's running around SF interferring with his TT to cloud his thinking.
