Anyone heard from Bob Rathke lately? I hope he can be involved as
well.

Thanksgiving is out for me, and probably Rich Allman too. East Penn
has a
tradition of setting up modules for the public at Bryn Mawr Hospital

weekend. I can't back out of that one.

Come up with another date guys. Ken, Howard and Holland when can you
make
it? Or better yet when can't you make it? The Fla. Guys appear to
be up
for anytime.

If I can make it on the selected date would like to join in, and
yes... a
field trip would be of interest.

Is there any interest in PRCo and/or West Penn field trips?

Sounds ok to me. I will be sure to take a "personal day" from work on
Thanksgiving Friday. I never have to work on holidays and I'm off
Sat/Sun so
that gives me four days.

As for an agenda I would suggest that the following might be
included at
some point:

Opening Brunch/Lunch/Refreshments (whichever one is easy to do), at
the
beginning of event. This could be at PTM.

Trolley rides, of course. With a variety of cars. Tour of PTM
system and
buildings. [I would like to run a PCC again :-) ]

Trips on PATransit light rail system, if it is still running on
weekends.
Perhaps a tour of the car house. I was in it once but that was back
in 1987.

Get togethers in the form of lunch, dinner, etc.

Closing dinner at the end of the event.

Make certificates to give to each participant.

Just my thoughts on what might be included.

I think this is a good idea. The date has pros and cons...we
sometimes
travel that weekend, and other times have a house full of family. But
the
foliage is down and that helps for field trips.
Next question: What does everyone want on the agenda?

Herb Brannon and I have had a private discussion off list and I think
it is time to bring it on list ...

His suggestion (and I'm going to let him take all the credit for it)
is that we have a list get together or a list convention ... doesn't
matter what we call it.

I agreed whole heartedly because we have evolved into a group of
friends and acquaintances and not simply a list of Pittsburgh
Railways types.

My suggestion for a location was Pittsburgh or more likely PTM (the
museum) and my first suggestion to Herb for a date was Thanksgiving
weekend because Mark McGuire was (I think) already coming up from
Jacksonville and I know I'm coming from Lancaster to work all weekend
as an operator on Santa Trolley.

RUN WITH IT GUYS.....
