<P>1958 was the last time I saw a sternwheeler in normal service in Pittsburgh, although I wasn't near the rivers every day.</P>

<P>In the late 50's I photographed the excursion steamboat Avalon docking at the Mon Wharf (I need to find that photo too). Later, the Avalon was rebuilt and renamed, and operates today as the Belle of Louisville. </P>
