We had much </div><div>in common.</div><div> We enjoyed a pleasant dinner until desert, when he politely </div><div>explained to me I would be fired if I did not fund Sky Bus.</div><div><div><div>I told him 83 % of the people opposed it and it was not viable. I </div><div>would have to take my chances. The next Governor did fire me </div><div>as the bus lobby paid him to do it. A committee of a dozen </div><div>Republicans </div><div>called on the Governor to keep me but he told them and they told </div><div>me that he was financially obligated to get rid of me.</div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre">        </span>They demanded the end of commuter rail subsidy as they </div><div>needed the money for buses. By 1982, all the RDC's were shut </div><div>down but the bus lobby never got more money as the accounting </div><div>losses on RDC operation did not produce any honest cash </div><div>savings after discontinuance.
