when Daria Washington started with PATransit the female roster<BR>consisted of
her, Hattie Bartosik and Cora Sypolt. Daria began at East<BR>Liberty (where Cora
Sypolt was an operator) in the class ahead of my<BR>training class. She
transferred to SHJct (where Hattie Bartosik was an<BR>operator) a few months
after I did. Daria Washington and I had the infamous<BR>"meet" on the single
track on Warrington Avenue which was caused by the<BR>unwillingness of PATransit
to keep the overhead contacts and the Nachod<BR>systems in general in top
operating condition. By the late 1970s there were<BR>quite a number of women
