HO. HO. HO everyone~
I've attached a photo of the last Sdhusters Billlie the Brownie Christmas parade. They started in 1928, lighted for the floats were provided by the streetcar tracks, with a pole attached to the wire. Set-up was at the Cold Spring Shops, and they managed to pass all three Schusters stores. The parade route started at 55th and Center After the war, trackless trolley wires replaced the streetcar (because of rail removal). Since there were no right turn wires on 3rd and Center, MCTS stagg manually switched the poles to the third street line (19 and 37) The final parade was in 1961, which was also the last year that all 10 trolley lines were intact.
