Subject: Jack Gervais

Dear Friends,

At the request of Sherri Gervais, I am sending this e-mail.

I am sorry to be the one to pass on bad news, but its best to get
the word out as soon as possible. Our friend, John E. "Jack"
Gervais, had an all-but-fatal heart attack on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Sherri, Jack complained of feeling light-headed while
crossing the kitchen, and said that he thought he was going to pass
out. He collapsed on the floor, due to a massive heart attack. The
rescue squad was called, and managed, after a great deal of effort,
to get his heart going again: Jack was transported to the hospital.

Jack is not hooked up to life support, and has an I-V drip for
fluids and pain (if any). However, the doctors say there is no
higher-brain activity. They also say that there is no chance of any,
and that its only a short time before his body finally shuts off.
Sherri feels that Jack was probably dead before the paramedics
arrived. At this point, the family is awaiting the inevitable.

As most of you know, Jack had a second, major, multiple bypass
surgery a few years back. That surgery left him permanently weaker,
and precipitated a kidney condition which curtailed his lifestyle a
great deal. However, despite the major drawbacks, it did extend his
life long enough to see both sons marry, and watch his first
grandchild grow up over the past two years. (If you haven't ever
seen a picture of little Wilder, he looks just like grandpa, with the
same infectious smile).

I will update all of you as more information is available. Please
pass this e-mail on, or call anyone whom you feel should know.

	Thank you,

	Brian Siegl
