There is a story behind Paul's photo.
Paul told me he took this photo when he was a reporter for the Milwaukee 
Sentinel.

At the time of his photo, the trackless trolleys were no longer using the 
Michigan Street Bridge, except for bypassing traffic tie-ups. He happened to 
have the camera handy and when he saw the trolley buses using the bridge 
that day, he hung around to take the photo.

Incidentally, the friend who took the modern photo from the same vantage 
point took others I will share. And man, did he ever photo-document the old 
Waukesha Beach area....he even found the remains of a second fountain, 
buried in the woods, near the former junction.

I have a bunch of his stuff, taken recently along the MRK, MN, Watertown and 
Muskego Lakes rights of way. Some are already on the web site.
