Larry Allan and list:   Your observation of the two photos depicting
bridges on the Milwaukee River, were not taken from the same, Clybourn
Street, bridge.                  

Check the backgrounds of each photo.  Note that the First Wisconsin Bank
Building is much larger in the photo on the right.  The replacement
structure on the NW corner of Water and Wisconsin, is also much larger,
also.  Close comparison will show you that the photo on the right, was
taken from the Michigan Street Bridge.
