Ken and list: What is the car number and where was the photo, taken?
I would guess that the car is southbound, probably on Oakland Avenue in
the neighborhood of Oakland Car Station.

The 600's (601 - 660) were favored with various modifications. The
original configuration remained intact for most of there operating life.

The seven rebuilt to One-Man Safety Cars, were 611 - 616 + 660 in 1928.

Back in 1924, John I. Beggs lavish progam of modernizing its rolling
stock, brought the six Deck Roofed Interurban Cars (101 - 106) down to
Cold Spring Shops for the initial rebuilding program and introduction of
Green Special Coaches into the new Rapid Transit Program. Replacing
those six cars in Appletion were MIlwaukee's 651 - 660. The cars
were renumbered 201 - 210. Abandonment of service in 1928, brought these
ten cars back to Milwaukee and reconfigured as City streetcars,
regaining their original numbers.

1927 - 1928, saw several cars sent through the Shops for improved
servcie on the Suburban Cudahy - South Milwaukee Line. Those were cars
601 - 608. Improved seating and Central Lighting Fixtures were basic
changes.

So, the remaining cars; 608, 609 and 610 + 617 - 650, continued in
service, unchanged. Of record is that St.Louis Car Company built cars
601 - 630 in 1912. MIlwaukee's Cold Spring Shops, built the balance of
these cars (631 - 660) in 1913.
