True. Plus, it occurred to me later that the list was probably copied from individual note cards or form pages in books...and those do have a way of disappearing.

Scott G and list: Patterns set, were not always kept.
Examining evaluation drawings discloses that subsequent changes were
supposed to carry a dash (-) followed by a consecutive change number, in
example; R.S. #10,274-L-2... for South Milwaukee Trains 1031 - 1050...

Most of the L series drawings did not carry sub numbers after the L
which, designated the drawing size, in this case 8.5" x 11".
