Gary,
Abel & Bach did downsize by the 1950s and by then had sold off the
building you mentioned. They were a big company in the earlier part of
the century and had a big factory stretching to St. Paul and also east
of 10th Street. The main office was on St. Paul. With the Stock Market
Crash they had to sell to Stearns but still kept manufacturing there
through the 1950s.
