Greetings!
I sent the following post a little while back but in re-reading
it I left out a key description. It is corrected below:::::::
I just received a photo of PCC interurban 1723 inbound at the
Smithfield bridge with what looks like a *normal load of passengers* (as
opposed to a group of railfan passengers!) and the date is 1953.09.07,
just better than three weeks before the run to Washington was terminated
at the *temporary wye* while the loop was being constructed. The
destination sign reads *Shannon-Drake.* Car 1723 still sports the spare
trolley pole strapped to the roof as this would be standard equipment if
it is assigned the run to Washington!
Obviously the wye would be completed before the run to Washington
ended.
WHEN was the wye completed?
WHEN did PRCo start running trippers from the new wye?
