This 1600 series had the aspect "GOTHAM CITY
>via BATCAVE" as the last sign. When I crossed the Smithfield St. Bridge I
>would change the sign to this and would watch the smiles and pointing from
>people walking along the sidewalks throughout downtown.
Some, if not all of these signs date from 1963-67 when Rick Hannegan and I ran most of the PRMA fan trips. Many off beat signs were crafted in Rick's McKeesport basement and used on the trips -- and sometimes left for future use. We also used flags and one car ran for weeks with a green tape racing stripe added vertically up the front onto the roof. I suspect the multi-colour Trafford Express sign was also an RH product.
