There is a sense in which ({[PAT]}) *itself* (herself?? - himself??)
had its own comeback when they repainted 1734 as the
"JOLLY TROLLEY!* It is interesting that John Baxter took that stunning
postcard view of 1734 when new beside Highland barn and it ended up as
the Jolly Trolley! But I am not so certain that this wasn't a further
putdown of rail afficionados in that gaudy pink color!
Like Ken, if you can remember other special destination signs, that
would be extremely interesting.
I doubt this was used on the trolleys but an acceptable spelling of
Ætna used that Greek(?) letter - a combination of A and E. Was it used
on the trolleys?
Very good friends of the family lived on Dewey Street in Etna, just up
the street on the wye! I distinctly remember seeing the trolleys here
but don't remember riding them!
