Here's a list of surviving Johnstown cars:
350 PTM
351 Market Street Ry (under restoration)
352 National Capital Trolley Museum
311, 355 Rockhill Trolley Museum
356, 357 Shoreline Trolley Museum
358 Trolley Museum of New York (see note)
362 Fox River Trolley Museum
I copied this list from the Trolley Museum of NY's website (
http://www.mhrcc.org/tmny/ ) which has links to all of the museums as
well as a short history on their car. #358 was converted to diesel
operation (motors & controls removed, diesel engine & truck transmission
installed) for the Stone Mountain Scenic Ry where it ran as their #1910.
The TMNY is completely restoring it for operation but will retain the
diesel operation until they string some wire.
According to the PCC From Coast To Coast book, Johnstown PCC's were cut
up in 1962 and the parts sent to Brussels where they sprouted into new
cars. Anyone know why none were preserved in museums?
