"Summit" was a point, not a stop, where northbound single track became
double. It was just outbound of the 837 highway crossing, and was not the
high point on the line (or, more accurately, this section of the line).
Glendenning is at the trestle over the road, near the bottom of the hill
(near Black Diamond). I have photos of all these points (though not
necessarily of a size I can presently scan). I also have an Ed Miller
contact print of the photo mentioned from the book. It is captioned, in
Ed's writing, "No. 1711 Near Eldora Park," but I think 1717 is the correct
number. If I could mis-print this negative I might say more, because the
number on the signal would be perhaps discernible. That part of the picture
had to be dark to get the sky printed in. At any rate, the Miller photo
looks south and was taken on the way down from Eldora enroute to
Glendenning.
