Greetings!
For obvious reasons, this is n-o-t going to be posted on the West Penn mail list! However, if you
know of PCC fans on the list who might like a copy of this Manual, please alert them!
I was able to get ahold of a PCC Manual that is really excellent! While it is possible to nit-pick
anything, this is still a real gem. The Manual describes operation of both single end and double end PCC cars
here in San Francisco with a description of the function of each of the controls on the operators control
panel, the function of each pedal and a very good description of how the brakes work, as well as descriptions
of such mundane items as doors and mirrors! Descriptions of pertinent items on the exterior of the car are
also given.
Other items include pre-operational check lists; moving, parking, and securing the car; and making
emergency stops. Trouble shooting, pushing and towing procedures, information peculiar to the double end cars,
operating the wayside mechanical lifts, and excerpts from the Official Rule Book pertaining to electric cars is
also covered.
I scanned this using OCR and the document is well over thirty (30) pages formatted for Lotus AmiPro 3.1
and is almost 90,000 bytes in size. The corresponding ASCII text file is 61,500 bytes in size!
I am offering this on a *first-come, first-served* basis in three different forms. From experience, I
have learned that I *must* ship the Lotus AmiPro 3.1 version as a zip file; the other two files are a zipped
ASCII and just plain old ASCII. The only difference between the two ASCII files is that the zip file is much
smaller -- 23,062 bytes -- and will up- and down- load much faster. But you need an *unzip* program to
access the file!
If you wish a copy of this PCC Manual, please send a personal email *off-list* specifying one of the
following:
1)--PCCAMIPR.ZIP - Zipped Lotus AmiPro 3.1 version, 23,062 bytes.
2)--PCCASCII.ZIP - Zipped ASCII text, 19,686 bytes.
3)--PCCMANUL.TXT - Plain ASCII text, 61,650 bytes.
To save time and effort on this end, I will batch mail these, so please allow 7-10 days delivery
time!!!
