B-3 trucks under 1600 series interurbans

Greetings!

Although this is not a rule, it seems that the drum brakes on all-electric PCC cars are spring applied
and electrically released. (I believe that it was just the opposite on Toronto all-electrics: spring released
and electrically applied.)

On air-electric PCC cars, it seemed that the normal rule was air application of the wheel brake shoe or
drum brake with a spring release. I understand that the 1200s were the opposite: spring applied brake shoes,
air release.

Since most of the B-3 trucks built were for all electrics, how did the air operated drums work on the
B-3s under the 1600 series PRCo PCC cars? Were they air applied and spring released as most other air cars, or
were they spring applied and air released?
