In answer to Jim Holland on the footage I have it is all in one reel. I will
be happy to send it out if you would like. By the way, if any of you don't
have Jim's video on Pittsburgh that was put together some years ago, you
should!
To Bill V. - I will take a look at the film and see what the headsign is.
The flying fraction is long gone at this point. As I remember the tunnel was
still being used
at this point with the cars taking that sharp left (outbouind) from the
tunnel along the prw up to street level and then Warrington Ave. By watching
it I can put it all back together. One of the lines at that point, I believe
49 Beltzhoover was using the single
track up Warrington from Carson.
There was another Pitrtsburgh map, done by the ERA.about June of 1949. Data
same from R. Sexon, W.A. James, J.G. Kneiling, and Charlie Dengler. It says
it was the second edition. My copy is from a stone age vintage copy machine.
If anyone can find a copy it is worth getting and I would like a good copy
of it or an original if it can be found.
The PTM map drawn by Mac McGraw is a super map and everytime you buy one you
help the museum a wee bit.
