Fascinating, Dave! THANKS for taking the time to find this
information; Ed had mentioned he forwarded the request to you. You had
sent me the dates of conversion for the interurban cars earlier.
A 3.26 - 5.5 of 1949 date for installation of the roof headlights on
the 1600 series interurbans is after all the 1700 series interurbans
were in service!
It is interesting but this subject came up on another trolley list.
Someone mentioned that they were in Pgh about 1946-7 and they were
waiting for the Washington interurban and were disappointed to see *one
of those PCCs with the roof light* come along and being forced to ride
that! I mentioned that the roof lights did not debut until late 1948 or
1949 but they insisted it was 46-47 because that is when he got to use
his dad's camera for the first time instead of his own Brownie. 'Fraid
