Ed - you'll notice that my last comment is followed by <VBG> - my first
use of that computerese phrase meaning Very Big Grin. I, also, have
some very early photos of 1613 and 1614 and they definitely do not have
roof lights. Have a photo from Cliff Scholes of 1648 in downtown
Washington in the summer of 1948 sans roof light.
I included the comment about the man switching cameras and thus being
certain about the date he saw the streetcars with roof lights because
this is so typical of us *Trolley Jollies* - history is written
according to our own personal experience - Dave is just going to have to
change those dates to fit!
I have found that our *inhumanity* abhors facts - we thrive on gossip
and heresay. While this has always been true, that point is driven home
on the net where we communicate with people we would never otherwise
know and that effect is more concentrated and more obvious because it
comes from a wide range of areas!
But honestly, I most definitely do believe Dave's dates. It IS
interesting to note that the 16s received the lights after all the 17s
were in service!
