	Please NOTE:::::::    Ed  did NOT write the above - the three of

	Mr. Nit-Picker - Cousin Ken - is at it again! :>)  YES - what you 
say is very true.  I went thru that whole scenario with the advent of the 
LRVs here in SF - realizing that I was reacting to the LRV the same way 
that railfans reacted to the PCC when they arrived.  I made a real 
determined effort to like the LRV cars but in all honesty, they just do 
not appeal to me!  I do like Portland and DO make plans to go there just 
to ride them - but wouldn't do that for other systems.
	Here in SF I take pains to avoid the LRVs - they are not 
comfortable, they are slow, and just don't seem practical.  Rode UTDC in 
San Jose twice and the same for Sacramento since both have been opened.  
If I don't ride those again, I won't be missing nutting!
	Have never been on any of the LA LRVs even though I had rellies 
on three sides of *that place.*  Will not make plans to ride the systems, 
either.
