West View Park

I rode double-ended cars to/from West View Park on route 10 in the late
40's, but don't recall if they crossed over for return trips on the same
route (I was familiar with route 15 cars on the Northside, but it was
years until I realized that routes 10 and 15 changed destination signs
near West View Park) . On the 1958 PRMA map of PRC lines, a
discontinued passing siding is shown at the park's upper entrance. With
all the special picnic cars to West View Park, there's a good
probability that PRC engaged in switching movements there.

By the way, the "Kennywood" book contains several photos of PRC trolleys,
and also a map of the park that depicts PRC tracks, including the loop at
the main entrance to the park.

Amusement parks were part of the strategy in building traffic for early
trolley lines. PRMA's 1973 book on the West Penn Rys. identifies several
amusement parks that were along WPR lines.
