To Jim Holland and others with similar questions:
It (the table of contents for the monster book) was sent in MS Word 6.0
(1995) because MS Word is the most common office software out there. I
put it in 6.0 because Word 97 may not be available to all of you, even
though it was created in Word 97.
Ed Lybarger had a problem pulling off the file ... it consisted of a
description in column one and page numbers in column two. Nothing was
properly aligned when he got it. And, somehow in the process of
transmission, it was changed from a Word 97 to RTF format.
I've told him I'll send him the file on 3 1/2 inch disc by snail mail.
If anyone out there truly needs the file, send me a blank IBM format
disc and a postage paid return envelope. I can save it in any way that
Word 97 allows.
A text file is attached Jim.

PITTSBURGH RAILWAYS COMPANY
COURSE IN ORGANIZATION, EQUIPMENT AND METHODS
BY W. A. KELLER
OCTOBER, 1937 - APRIL 1938
The subject course was created to educate selected employees of Pittsburgh Railways Company in the manner in this the company was structured.
A separate section was provided for most departments within the Railways organization.
When this course was prepared, Pittsburgh Railways Company was under the corporate umbrella of Philadelphia Company, which in turn was controlled by Standard Gas and Electric Co. Other Philadelphia Company properties in western Pennsylvania included Equitable Gas Company, Equitable Auto Company, Pittsburgh Motor Coach Company, and Duqesne Light Company. These other firms were co-located in the Philadelphia Company Building on 6th Street in Pittsburgh. Certain departments including, but not limited to management, secretary, legal, accounting, treasury, telephone, real estate, truck ownership and bus maintenance crossed corporate boundaries. Those sections are included in this course because they served Pittsburgh Railways. However, departments wholly unique to other Philadelphia Company properties are not included.
