I am wondering if a mining traction display and/or equipment would also fit
in with the Western Pennsylvania traction theme.
IRM has a miniture electric locomotive and several cars rescued from a
tunnel of the Chicago Tunnel Company, the well known underground electric
railway serving businesses in downtown Chicago.
Since coal mining was essential to the economy of Pennsylvania and many of
these mines used miniture "trolleys" to service the mining operations, would
a former mining locomotive be an appropriate display for the Museum? After
ringing Fred's fare register, the kids could climb on a static display
mining locomotive. Ken J.
