One was an elderly gentleman who passed away during the mid 1970s. He was once a
crane operator for Pressed Steel Car Company. He absolutely hated the Low Floor
interurbans. He called them "toonervilles." Another was a woman whose entire
family didn't enjoy riding them if they had to ride the entire length of the
interurban lines. She claimed her parents used to state that "streetcars belong in
the city." She's in her upper eighties now and her grand daughter informed me she
isn't much with the program anymore. I didn't get to see anyone in that family
during my last trip to Pittsburgh.
