Drake Loop In-Service Info

West Library Loop was built half with county funds to service fair patrons.
The agreement called for PRCo to give half of the scrap value back to the
county if it was abandoned. I'm sure they didn't want to get into any kind
of dispute over its use, so they built the new one and left the old one in
place.

I have often wondered why they didn't just use West Library loop rather
than to build another loop a mile away! Simmons is certainly closer to
that bustling town of Library so it may have been the service focus
again, like Drake Loop as opposed to Drake Wye. Highly commendable if
this is the case!

And while we are at it, do you know the last cars to use Drake and
Simmons loops under PRCo authority before PAT took over? What about the
last PRCo cars to use Clearview, Dormont-wye, Castle-Shannon loop, 53
and 77/54 loop, 44 line, 48-loop, 39-loop, 21-line, Wilmerding loop,
Tioga Loop, . . . . . . . . . . . . . <VVVVVVVVBG>!!!
