The company was reorganized out of bankruptcy in late December 1950, so any
date after that is fair game for the application of the emblem.

Subject: The First *Wing* Logo Application !!!!!!!
Greetings!
Some time back there was a general discussion of when the first winged
logo was placed on the cars and *about-1955* seemed logical.
However, I was just reviewing my photos and I have a photo of 1614 on a
fan-trip in 1953 on the Washington line and the logo is as clear as can
be! The spare trolley pole can still be clearly seen mounted on the
car. These spare poles were removed by late 1953 when the interurbans
were truncated within Allegheny County.
Was PRCo reorganized by this time after filing bankruptcy? If so, this
might explain the wings.
Before we had assumed that 1955 would be correct as none of my photos
seemed to show the logo before that and 55 would certainly be after PRCo
had gone thru receivership!
