Thanks for the info Jim -
Also, you all might want to know that Corgi, the folks who provide a generic
post war
standee window PCC in many paint schemes, is planning to release a Pittsburgh
"1700" in July, 2000, their number 55013. That is all the info I have and
don't know
what vinage paint they will use.
This will not be a PRCo. correct 1700, but the paint will be. These cars can
usually be found for $40 - $50 advertised in the model magazines.
If you will scan the photo of the 1700 being offered by Jim Holland (aka
Holland Electric Railway Operation) there is no comparison for accuracy.
Before I get bounced as "getting a cut" from Jim, I am ordering one of these
cars from him.
The Russians must be pretty good. At the hobby shop I work at part time, the
airplane engines from Russia show workmanship that is far superior to any
other line
sold in the shop.
Either way, these are nice additions to your den or train room, and the Corgi
car can be powered and run on O scale track, although I believe it is 1:50
scale.
Fred
