It's on 16mm microfilm; you print it yourself on their slick reader-printer.
There would be no way to scan the records and avoid the fees. I once went
so far as to inquire if there was a political way around the page charges,
and found that there wasn't!

Do they basically have to copy it for you? I'm strongly considering
getting a portable document copier or scanner to "deal" with the problem
of copies which are too expensive.
Of course, that's more than I should really spend, maybe even more than I
have;-)
