Ozone

Greetings,

Just an opinion but the tunnel, acting as the enclosure it is, enhanced
the odor of the gas being generated.by the wheel-to-wire contact. This
contact is typical whether inside or outside a tunnel. "Open air"
contact would allow O3 production to dissapate before ever reaching
ones nostrils.

If our List discussion re Ozone production continues any further, and
the EPA gets wind of it, the demse of the trolley may well be added to
the list of causes for Ozone depletion. Move over flurocarbons!

On a happier fantasizing note, there may be light at the end of the
tunnel <grin>; resurrection of all the magnificent electrified
transportation lines that gave way to the hoards of smelly air polluting
buses. It's good to dream.
