West Penn today

I xeroxed it, but it still doesn't tell you all that much. Harry, of
course, remembers it and what he says is quite close to what was drawn for
the PSC. The petition also refers to streets in Latrobe, so we have some of
that, and we have the West Penn city (Latrobe) map that Ralph Chilcott
rescued along with the others in 1952 (and which is barely legible, too)
which shows the trackage to the first carbarn (now a vacant lot, if I recall
correctly). The WCRyCo had some right-of-way between Bradenville and Derry
that I can only guess at. A good field inspection would help, because
that's what's involved for the most part - fields.
Harry also says he remembers West Penn 700s out on the WCRy, and that
there's a photo of that somewhere, which may or may not be the case. He's
been known to remember some things that didn't happen (haven't we all) but
he also remembered spoked, cast steel wheels on 700s, and a newspaper
article I found confirmed that. My money's on Harry unless it's something
egregious!

I looked at that document in the 1968, before the PUC had xerox machines for
the public. I made a quick sketch copy of it...not necessarily good enough
to
follow. And you?
