The Mohawk Airlines car could have been done with gold foil. It was
painted mostly black and white; the gold areas were large, but were
horizontal bands below the window line and below the floor line area.
There were no words or numbers within the gold areas. The 21-Fineview
photo I have of this car (1664) was taken by Bill Gwinn on Lanark St. on
8/27/61. The motorman is sitting sideways, facing the closed front
doors, which suggests that it was a photo stop.
I just did a quick check of SOME of my photos of the Chryster cars, and
here's what I found:
1635 - 42/38, 10-13-63
1678 - 15, 12-22-63
1623 - 44, 6-9-64
1556 - 77/54, 10-20-63
NONE of these 5 cars were on 22-Crosstown.
Also came across an obscure ad car that I totally forgot existed - 1548
(14-Avalon), painted for Shoemaker Bros. Heating Co. Photographed on
12-22-63.
