Favorite Things Intersections

Greetings!

	Smithfield and Carson.

Not necessarily my most favorite intersection (many absolutely
fascinating intersections in the East End) but this one is a *skewed*
intersection.

The tunnel to bridge tracks have a much wider devil strip than anywhere
else on the system. These tracks also cross Carson at an angle and the
intersection in the latter days lacked being a grand union only because
tracks straight through on Carson did not exist.

The intersection posed interesting construction problems with the
turnouts on the tunnel side being on a grade.
