Greetings!
I have a 1939 photo of 1189 at Millvale. On the 10s and 11s there was
a removable plate in the front (and rear) skirting to allow access to
the tow pin. As time wore on, the skirting was modified to be like that
of the 1200-series where the tow pin and more was completely exposed.
But 1189 has its removable plate either riveted or bolted in place but
cut to allow for the exposure of the tow pin.
Just thought everyone would really need to know this detail!!
