I remember seeing the old 87 trackage in cobblestone, sometime in the 80's,
and saw that it was coming down off a slope surrounded by greenery. (memory
is foggy.) I saw where the cars turned around, but at that time, I didn't
know there was an old wooden viaduct that linked up with the tracks. When I
first saw the old trackage, I though it was somehow connected to the very old
line that ran to McKeesport. Figured it all out later.

Anyway, it still amazes me when old trackage like this keeps turning up after
almost 35 years since abandonment.

Saw the old 58 Greenfield/69 Squirrel Hill trackage popping up this morning on
Hazelwood Avenue. The city is in the process of scraping the streets in the
area. They're doing Loretta Street as well, but more intensively than
Hazelwood.
