Let me say that 1702 in the period of 1973 to 1978 was one of my favorites. 
This, because of the smooth ride it gave when 'at speed.' There was none of 
the lateral movement associated with many of the PAT PCC cars, especially the 
'city' type cars. 1702, if I recall correctly, was never assigned to a 'base' 
block, but instead, was used for trippers and various split runs. I do recall 
1702 had a strange 'whine' when the power was applied. It did ride level and 
true. Perhaps it had truck rebuilding done at some point in its life. It did 
last until scrapped around 1981.
