Route 40

Hi All,

I am finally getting photos of Route 40 together for Bob Dietrich and a
PAT employee who also grew up along the route.

As I look at these photos, I wonder how or even if PAT ever substituted
with buses on this line after streetcar service ended. Some of the turns
and curves that appeared to barely allow a streetcar through do not seem
very enticing to bus service. 

I wonder the same about other "Hilltop" routes such as 44 and 48. I have
been up there numerous times during the '70's and '80's but I have never
noticed any bus service.  Ken J.
