Were 100 cars actually overhauled between 1972 and 1979? I honestly
don't know. But I don't believe there were ever 100 cars available for
service at any given time between 1972 and 1979 due to wrecks,
overhauls, breakdowns, etc. Whether or not their were 100 cars on the
property during those years is what I would like to know.
One source (William D. Middleton) indicates there were 128 cars in
service in 1967. Harre Demoro (your pal) noted there were 127 cars still
in service during March, 1969. I know a number of 16s were scrapped or
disposed of during 1972-73.
