Not to rain on anybodies fantasy, but another big obstacle would be the
overhead wire. I am sure the residents of Mt. Washington would claim that
it would ruin their view. Especially on Grandview Ave. Of course conduit as
was used in DC could be an option.

My vote for line restoration would be the 50 Carson St.,but have it loop at
the Duquense incline (not in downtown). Its in a revived growing
neighborhood, its all flat, it could serve both remaining inclines, and the
station square shops, would also connect to the LRV station on Carson St.
In addition we could turn it up or down 21st street to abandoned railroad
grades and run it out to Kennywoods Sandcastle. Imagine riding an open air
car to Sandcastle. Oh, it could also be connected to the Industrial park
that is now where J&L Steel use to be on the South Side.

Yes I realize the view would not be the same and there are no grades. But
if anybody is serious about a heritage line in Pgh. I believe this line
would be a cant miss opportunity.

This route I think would be more receptive and probably could get the
backing needed. This is just my opinion.

I agree with Ken in using Pgh PCCs first.(Maybe Ed Mitchell could be
persuaded to sell his PCCs for just such a line.)

PS My second choice that would be viable (my opinion only) would be a line
in Pittsburgh's Strip District. This line would have to loop downtown, pass
the convention center, pass the Heinz Pgh Regional Museum, and if possible
extend to Bloomfield.
