Have you seen any documentation as to why the 1600s returned to the
older style, more vertical windshield? The most plausible explanation
I've heard is that wartime shortages may have forced the Railways to
take an off the shelf car body with less options. Is this actually true?
It sounds reasonable to me. Ken J.
