Greetings!

One of the most informative posts in a long time, Fred; THANKS!!

PRCo seemed to be pretty consistent in painting its PCC cars. All the
exterior colors and design were the same from 100 through 1699 with the
exception that WW-2 did not allow for chrome and glossy finishes. This
is not to say that there weren't subtle differences in the colors from
one series to the next, but they were extremely similar. And the 17s
departed mainly in the design with the *hour-glass* front dash.
Thus we can say that interior colors were very much similar down
through the ages as well. Again, there can be subtle differences from
series to series, but they are all pretty much the same.
I am looking at a B&W photo of the interior of 1170 taken by St. Louis
Car when the car was built. I corresponded with St. Louis regularly in
the 1960s and they sent me this photo in addition to others.
The floor is black rubber mat; the seats themselves appear brown, a
dark brown; the ceiling is cream not unlike the exterior cream; and the
sides are a dark-tan up to the bottom of the advertizing rack. This
included the area where the cranks were placed for opening the windows.
It appears as though the housing over the center door operating
mechanism is also this dark tan.
