Kennywood, I cannot be sure of. However, I did operate the bus route which
replaced the 60 trolley (bus 64A) and it did run the same route as the
trolley except in the East Liberty section.

Most trips ended at Munhall Loop. When you departed the loop with the bus you
even had to pull up to the "signal switch" and get out and push the button to
get a red signal for 'outbound' auto traffic on 8th Avenue. You could then
get out on the street and block 'outbound' and wait for 'inbound' auto
traffic to ease up and then you could begin the inbound bus trip. The trolley
did the same thing.

As for the Rankin Bridge..........I did one trip on the bus which duplicated
the former trolley schedule. You bypassed Munhall Loop, continued to a left
on Rankin Bridge to the opposite side of the Mon River, made a right around
the looping ramp, made a right onto Braddock Avenue (under the bridge), sat
there for recovery time, then made a right onto the looping ramp back up to
the bridge deck and crossed the river back to 8th Avenue and Homestead. I
once asked a 'Route Foreman' why that trip was made (I always carried zero
passengers) and he told me the streetcar used to make that trip to get mill
workers across the river to catch the 67 and it just remained in the
schedule. It did remain in the schedule until the late 1970s.
