Atwood Route

Greetings to all
The Atwood line was reasonably used for a shuttle line.
It served a densely populated area not served by a radial street
car line. The buses on the Blvd of the Allies crossed the line midway
but charged a premium fare. A working class neighborhood
equals good transit ridership. In later years the Model Cities Loop
bus served the area and I believe that there is still bus service there.
Yes. I rode the line. My National Guard armory was nearby.
The Schoenville line in McKees Rocks was another good shuttle
but for different reasons. It served factories (Pressed Steel Car Co)
and working class housing in an area known as "the bottoms".
