Never been covered? In print? In this column?
It was covered in the CERA #110 on the West Penn Railways, including some very
nice pictures from the Durward Hoag collection. Lamentably, the special
collections librarian at Marietta College told me several weeks ago that a lot
of the cellulose-nitrate negatives from the Hoag collection were recently
hauled out of the library and put to permanent rest by the Marietta Fire
Department because they had decomposed to the point that they had become
gelatinous and explosive.
The switch point at 2nd and Putnam apparently reflect the operation of the
last local car on the Putnam, 5th, Wooster, 2nd loop about 1933.
