No. I came to a normal stop without touching any buttons or switches. Only my
feet were doing the work...........left foot on the deadman and right foot on
the brake. After the car came to a complete stop the point moved over. I
remember the incident so well because, in those days, they (the training
instructors, route foremen, division superintendents, etc.) put 'the fear of
the Lord' in us to only do the right thing, according to the rule book.
Later, in discussing the happening with another operator I jokingly thought
out loud that the route foreman must have a switch inside their office to
throw the point a different direction so they could come out and start asking
questions.
<<HERB::: Can you relate more *Online-Stories* of your experiences as an
operator, PLEASE!!?? Like the one above, those are always
fascinating!!::-->)>>
If you are interested in such items and it is in line with a topic being
discussed, I could do that.
<<Still vividly remember you telling about the time you had a trolley
wheel burn out on you while bringing down a significant amount of
overhead!!>>
Yes, one of the more memorable events that happened to me. Sure did close the
35/36/37 for a while!
