NO!! It is 1630 - the only PRCo air car to be delivered from
St.-Louis-Car with fans and a roof monitor. After the closing of
Highland, 1630 lived out its days in South Hills as 1620--1629 were
already there! Definitely not 1620.
John Bromley mentioned that the fans were removed along with the roof
monitor and a trolley cowl from an 11- or 10- was put at the trolley
pole base. The car was overhauled electrically and mechanically, it was
repainted to the hour glass front of the 17s, and it received its first
PRCo logo in 1961 as a result.
Apparently because 1630 looked differently from the other 16s (trolley
cowl), the car was rejected by ({[pat]}) even though it was a stellar
performer!
*I* am the one who received permission from Scholes to post this photo
on abpr which was then picked up by Dave's. The number is most
definitely 1630!
