City 1700's with Roof Lights

Folks:

I saw the MTS 1700 PCC city car with the roof headlight at the Fall Trolley
Extravaganza and asked Joel (Proprietor of MTS) about it. He whipped out a
few pictures showing roof lights and fenders. I didn't look closely at the
numbers of timeframes of the pictures like I should have. I subsequently
asked on this list haw many 1700 cars came with roof lights and fenders and
the response from Mr. Lybarger was ONE, 1700 had a fender while it was new
and paraded around town. I presented that information to Joel who said he
has several pictures of these cars in his configuration. His position is
that if you want a city car without the roof light remove the roof light.

I tried.

Gents:
Just received some HO Pgh Rys 1700 PCC's imported by MTS.
They are listed as 1725-1799 prototypes, and have the city "thing" (safety
grate, people catcher?) in front where the interurbans have the pilots.
BUT, they have roof headlights as well. Joel showed me some pix of
prototypes for this rare combination, one in PAT white/red stripe/gray
livery.
Can anyone conveniently get me the numbers of cars with this combination or
point me to the appropriate reference?

The Grateful Fred
